In an increasingly interconnected world, the line between national law and international obligations is sometimes blurred. Dr. Sebeni specializes in drawing that line clearly for businesses and institutions operating at the highest levels.
As a business lawyer with more than 30 years’ international experience, and as a founder of the Institute for International Business Law at the University of Fribourg, Dr. Sebeni combines deep academic insight with the tactical precision of a seasoned attorney. He mainly advises clients in European Law matters and he guides corporations through the treacherous waters of cross-border litigation and international sanctions.
From drafting complex contracts and analyzing the ripple effects of cross-border taxation or geopolitical sanctionson Swiss and EU business, to designing robust commercial dispute resolution frameworks, Dr. Sebeni’s work is defined by a precise goal: securing client interests in high-stakes international disputes. His contributions extend beyond the courtroom and boardroom.
Having lived and worked on three different continents, Dr. Sebeni speaks six languages and has a keen understanding of cultural differences. He has advised more than 600 clients from various jurisdictions across the world, including from Europe, the USA, Canada, China, India, Israel, Uganda, Uruguay, etc.
Dr. Sebeni’s legal practice is enriched by more than 25 years of academic experience lecturing in Swiss and International Business Law, Contract Law, and Secured Transactions.
